The Belt of Truth

The Truth About Lies

The Belt of Truth becomes our foundational piece of armor because our battle is with the Father of Lies. His chief weapon is the lie. He manipulates, he perverts, he twists, and he masquerades as an Angel of Light. The chief end of Darkness is to manipulate Truth while the Christian defends Truth. The Spirit of Darkness attempts to define God, define Man, define Reality, and define life in such a way that makes Man the center. Darkness is flexible with his definitions and will encourage us to define our own Truth. His definitions of Reality are situational; his view of God is polytheistic, his view of Man is humanistic. He has many faces, many strategies, many arguments, and many helpers. He is the master deceiver and makes himself, and his ways, appear beautiful and good. If we will listen, he will communicate. He is patient and will wait for favorable circumstances, for the times we are most vulnerable. His lies will gently draw us; he will whisper, if necessary he will shout. He will promise, he will negotiate, he will defer, but he will never quit. If we are willing to listen, he will promise the desires of our heart. He knows we want to be happy and fulfilled, and if he can keep us playing the fulfillment game, then he has successfully put his hook into the lip of our thinking. It is the Belt of Truth that enables the Christian to recognize, resist, and escape this Deceiver.

The Truth About Seeing

The objective of Darkness is manipulate our perceptions. He works to cause us to see life with our eyes while preventing us from seeing with God's eyes. He works to confuse and obscure. If he can keep us from the Word of God, then he can alter how we see life. Truth is, if we will not see with God's eyes, then we will not not be able to walk in Truth.

  • God is who He says He is.
  • He can do what He says He can do.
  • He will do what He says He will do.
  • You are who God says you are.
  • You can do what God says you can do.

The Truth About Jesus

Jesus is God, fully God. To live the life we are called to live, and to possess the redemptive victories of Christ, we have to settle once and for all that Jesus Christ is Almighty God; Emmanuel, God with us.

Jesus is also man, fully man. He is God in the flesh, hence the Son of God. He was born of a virgin and did not inherit the sinful nature of Adam. He became a man with a physical body. He was given a physical body for one purpose which is this: that by death, He might make a satisfactory atonement for the sins of mankind.

The Truth About Salvation

The Scriptures tell us that Jesus died for the sins of the World and that His death is the only atonement for the sins of Mankind. Because forgiveness is found in Christ alone there is no other way of Salvation.  Jesus became sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God, in Him.

There is only one remedy for our sinfulness. That remedy is the death of Jesus Christ. He is the Lamb of God who died for the sins of the World. The Cross was His place of slaughter but our place of victory. It was there He became sin for us. And, because of His resurrection, we partake of His righteousness and are alive to God. He thoroughly and forever defeated sin for us. By His death alone, we have a forgiveness that clears the conscience and makes us perfectly right with God. The defeat of sin is not found in a particular Church, it is not found in diet, it is not found in a Sabbath, it is not found in a Doctrine, and it is not found in a Sacrament; none of these bled and died for us. Victory over sin is found only in the One who was nailed to a Cross; He alone suffered and died for the sins of the world. We are joined to Him in His death and His death becomes our death to sin. If through Christ we have died to sin, then we can no longer be guilty of sin; for one to be guilty of sin, he must be alive to it. Read Romans 6:1-14

The Truth About Living an Overcoming Life

The power to live an overcoming life is given to us through our union with the Resurrected Christ. We are joined to Him in His death, which makes full atonement for our sins, and we are joined to Him in His Resurrection which empowers us to live a new life. Jesus said just as He was dead to sin and alive to God, we are to reckon ourselves to also be dead to sin and alive to God. It is His death and His resurrection that are imputed to us, in which we find reconciliation to God and the power to live an overcoming life.

The Truth About our New Identity

We are given a New Identity in Christ. By human birth our identity was in Adam, meaning we inherited his nature. We show our identity with Adam by acting in the same way Adam acted. i.e., we all fall short of the glory of God. By the Cross we die to our relationship with Adam, and we are raised to a new life by the Resurrection of Christ.  The Scriptures tell us that we are a New Creation created in Christ Jesus. We are to see ourselves with new eyes, think about ourselves with new thoughts, and speak of ourselves with new words.

The Truth About Faith

Salvation is a gift and received only by faith. It is given to every person who, with all their heart, believes on, and accepts, Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Salvation is something God does to us; we cannot save ourselves apart from the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. The Gospel describes the completed Work of Christ and we enter into the power of the Gospel by faith alone. We simply believe, and then act on what God says about Christ.

The Truth About the Holy Spirit

Every single born-again Christian is indwelt by the Holy Spirit; every born-again Christian is birthed of the Holy Spirit. It is this New Birth that brings real change to our life and enables us to cry "abba" Father.

The Truth About Godliness

The Christian is called to live a godly lifestyle. They are chosen by God to be a separated and a special people; they are not to follow the ways or the thinking of the world; God's will is for His people to show forth the praises of His glory. The Christian is called to adorn the Gospel by living a lifestyle of virtue, character, and obedience.

The Truth About Judgment

The Scripture plainly tells us that each person will stand before God and give an account of his/her life, whether it be good or bad. The wise person will avoid willful sin and humbly serve the lord with a pure heart.
